Drilling at Zapffe starts in October
DONG E & P Norway AS got the permission to exploration drilling of in the well 7121/9-1 in the Zapffe prospect (PL 518). The drilling start in the well is scheduled to October 2011.
Drilling location is northwest of Hammerfest, and the shortest distance to shore (Sørøya-Northwest) is about 64 kilometers. The well is located approximately 22 kilometers west of Goliath, and about 35 kilometers southeast of Snøhvit. The water depth is 310 meters. . The operation will be performed by the rig «Aker Barents», and is estimated to take about 36 days.Total dept of the well will be approximately 2672 meters. The partners in the Zappfe prospect (PL518) are Dong E&P Norge (operator 40%), Front Exploration (20%), North Energy (30%), and Sagex (10%).
