The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has awarded the oil company Front Exploration a new production license on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Today the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy received Front Exploration’s proposals regarding which areas that ought to be included when the authorities later this year will announce new licenses for activity on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Front Exploration will participate in exploration drilling in the Barents sea in March 2012.

Drilling at Zapffe starts in October

DONG E & P Norway AS got the permission to exploration drilling of in the well 7121/9-1 in the Zapffe prospect (PL 518). The drilling start in the well is scheduled to October 2011.

Front Exploration AS announces that its two largest shareholders are committing additional capital to fund activities for the next three years. At the same time the company has applied to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for new licences.
